ABOUT US:

Kennedy CAD Services began originally as Design Concepts in McKinney, Texas, in 1999.  But, Steve Kennedy had many years prior to that invested in the homebuilding and remodeling business.  In fact, he has over 15 years experience in homebuilding, and in remodeling some of the older Victorian homes in McKinney

In 1999, following a major surgery and his inability to return to his job, Steve went back to college, again, to get his Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Design.  He had done some “board” drafting in the past, and with his background in construction and homebuilding, this just seemed like a natural “fit.”  Through his courses at Collin County Community College, he maintained a 3.82 GPA  (somewhat higher than what he experienced 40 years ago at the University of Oklahoma ! ! !).

Steve began doing all types of drawing for various firms while still in school, and has continued some of those relationships since.  He’s done a hundreds of specialty drawings for several engineering firms, particularly foundations, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.  He’s also done a lot of “overflow” work for other designers on house plans they weren’t able to get to at the time.

Today, we offer pretty much a full spectrum of drafting  --  from residential to light commercial.  We do house plans, as detailed as what the customer wants  --  we can do REScheck and COMcheck Energy Envelope compliance, Texas Accessibility Standards compliance, and we work hard at staying on top of the ever-changing Building Code requirements adopted by different municipalities.  And, we continue to process all kinds of foundation and MEP’s (mechanical – electrical – plumbing) for various clients.
